Gary & Ellen Bukstel - Legacy

Gary Bukstel, and his sister Ellen Bukstel, two talented native Miami born musicians, have been performing together since they were teenagers. In 1994 they formed the acoustic musical group, LEGACY to satisfy their creative energy, love of music, and to continue a legacy inspired by Ellenšs Husband Doug Segal, a hemophiliac who died from AIDS in 1988. Ellen named the group LEGACY in his memory.

Together their individual styles combine to form a rich blend of vocal harmonies, supported by acoustic guitars and keyboard, and captivating lyrics. When brother and sister vocal duo Gary & Ellen Bukstel join forces watch out! The pure joy and harmony, a product of their sibling relationship, and combined talents will carry you away. Both talented performing singer / songwriters and their unique blend of acoustic power folk pop style combined with their remarkable harmonies, promise sounds and songs from the soul.

Gary and Ellen have been featured as a main stage act at the South Florida Folk Festival, Will McClean Folk Festival, The American Music Festival, Love Fest, The Musicianšs Exchange, Hot Java Coffeehouse, just to name a few. They have performed many concerts to benefit AIDS Awareness in the South Florida community. Radio stations such as WLRN, ZETA and University of Miamišs WVUM are have played cuts from their first CD release, "Somewhere In Time", a collection of ten of their original songs. The group has dedicated this first collection to Ellenšs husband. They have just released a special CD compilation called "Born To Sing" produced in collaboration with Amy Carol Webb. Harmonies you donšt want to miss!!

Ellen Bukstel was a finalist in the 2002 New Folk Songwriters Competition held this summer at Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville, TX.
