Charissa Johnson
Charissa Johnson was born in Ft. Collins, CO in 1979, and has always displayed a great love of music and a desire to sing. Starting at a young age, Charissa began the study of classical piano, and eventually found herself playing the guitar, as well. The combination of these things led Charissa to discover her greatest gift and passion - songwriting. She continued the study of all these things throughout her years at Bennington College, and graduated with a BA in music. After graduating from Bennington College in Bennington, VT, Charissa moved to South Florida where she currently resides and performs locally. She can be seen at coffeehouses, art galleries, bars, songwriter rounds and festivals.
The music she performs is original and insightful, and she uses her music as a vehicle for emotional, often personal, reflection. The music rings beautifully honest, sometimes sarcastic, and is a clever mixture of simplicity and complexity. Her influences include the Beatles, Leonard Cohen, Ani DiFranco, and her many music teachers along the way.

Every audience I´ve seen her play is always mesmerized, and I´ve seen total strangers become smitten at the sound of her voice and the sight of her incredible, demure, extremely feminine presence. I have personally seen the effect of Charissa on people whose lives she affects. She is an inspiration to those lucky enough to see and hear her perform, and has the capacity to stay in a person´s mind FOREVER, as she did in mine......" - AA Reyes, CEO - Sheiken Records/Batovision Productions
