ACOUSTIC UNDERGROUND CONCERT SERIES PRESENTS: -
Vic Saul
Saturday, June 5th, 8:00pm
Musician, singer and songwriter Vic Saul will be on a six-city Florida tour from his home in England. His early experience on guitar and keyboard with a rock/pop/reggae group and with studio work was followed in the eighties by performing with legendary guitarist Gary Morris and "Force", a Midlands rock band. Later, with
his then partner, Suzanna Woods, they opened for some of Britain´s top artists including John Martyn, an influence and inspiration for him. He toured the U.K with the Jools Holland Band. The duo made many radio and television appearances on the BBC, GLR and BRMB including the BBC TV Live At Pebble Mill Show.
In 1999 Vic was invited to play at the Frank Brown International Song Festival in Florida and Alabama where he was blown away by John Joiner´s guitar. His CD "The Speed Of Darkness" attracted international attention resulting in a live TV appearance in New Orleans and extensive U.S. and European air-play. The CD was also nominated for a JPF award as the Best Solo Instrumental in 2002.
"...Vic Saul comes to engage us with his dreamy, warm voice together with incredible instrumental talent. He is master of guitar, keyboard, mandolin and percussion, and his own fretless stringed instrument, The Saul@. Original lyrics and melodies will inspire nostalgia in even the toughest heart. His philosophical and sentimental ballads bring out emotions surrounding ill-fated, untimely or fleeting love in a way most people can´t even dream of expressing." Rebecca Malone.
