How better to end a weekend than with some fine music in Miami´s best coffee house and acoustic music venue, according to New Times? For three hours Bob and Ron will entertain us while Alexis and Karla fill our gastronomic needs. And what talent we will hear from these two seasoned and widely traveled performers.
Bob Rafkin´s six CD´s include his award winning music, both instrumental and lyric. Down This Road, was lauded by Dirty Linen, "He´s an exceptional guitarist, has a
smooth, pleasing voice, and his years spent In the studio show in the simple, yet effective arrangements". With musical roots in Greenwich Village in the mid-sixties with David Blue he formed the campy folk-rock group, The American Patrol. He played on and Produced David Blue´s 1972 Asylum LP "Stories" and played On two LP´s by Phil Ochs, including the legendary live Album, "Gunfight At Carnegie Hall."
Ron Fetner has won awards at Kerrville, Falcon Ridge and Merlefest. The Virginia Gazette said, "if you are ever given an opportunity to see (him) you will certainly be moved, both emotionally and physically". Ron´s songs have a unique blend of New England folk and soul of the South. His song ´This Box I´m Looking Through´ (1996) received national play. His all-acoustic Turning For Home project is a collection of songs celebrating American life and also attracted national acoustic radio attention.
